After testing, clean the thermometer with warm water or mild detergent and then insert the probe into the protective cover. Never submerge the gauge head under water. Do not mix alkaline batteries, standard (carbon-zinc) batteries or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries. Do not put batteries in a fire. Do not install batteries backwards. Do not mix old and new batteries. Batteries may explode or leak causing injury. Remove batteries if unit is stored for extensive periods of time. Remove batteries if consumed. Battery contains mercury. Do not put in trash. Recycle or manage as hazardous waste. Replace all batteries at the same time. Keep batteries away from children. If swallowed, promptly see doctor.

Operating Instructions: 1. Press on/off button. The thermometer displays the current test temperature, the temperature sensor is located at the tip of the stainless probe. 2. Press degrees C / degrees F button to measure in Celsius or Fahrenheit. 3. Press hold button in current test mode to lock the current measured value, when the temperature is locked the digits will flash. Press the button again to return to the current test mode. 4. Auto power off: After idle for 15 minutes, the thermometer will switch off automatically. 5. Battery Type: 1.5V (LR44/AG13). Wash and dry by hand only. The US Department of Agriculture recommends the minimum temperature be reached for the following foods items: Chops - 145 degrees F (62.8 degrees C) with 3 minute rest time. Ground meat - 160 degrees F (71 degrees C). Pork - 145 degrees F (62.8 degrees C) with 3 minutes rest time. Poultry - 165 degrees F (74 degrees C). Roasts - 145 degrees F (62.8 degrees C) with 3 minutes rest time. Seafood - 145 degrees F (62.8 degrees C).
