DuPont ProClear Air Filter Electrostatic Ultimate Allergen Performance 16 x 25 x 1 - Each
Filter, Electrostatic Air
16 x 25 x 1. Ultimate allergen performance. This filter traps pollen; pet dander; dust; odors; smoke particles; mold spores; ragweed; fungus; bacteria. Ultimate allergen microparticle reduction. Contains Oguard odor reduction technology. Captures microscopic allergens. Microban protection fights odor-causing microbes on the filter. Lasts up to 3 months. Can my home really have cleaner air? For every visible particle trapped in your furnace filter such as dust, dirt, and mold, there are as many as 100 more that you cannot see, including bacteria, fungi, and pollen. If not stopped, these microparticles can seep through your HVAC system and back into your air. Through independent lab testing, DuPont filters have been proven to trap a greater percentage of microparticles than conventional fiberglass filters. So the answer is yes, the air in your home can be cleaner. Laboratory Test Data: Microban product protection at work against odor causing bacteria. Test performed under controlled laboratory conditions according to AATCC 100 protocol using untreated filter media with Microban antimicrobial protection. Bacterial population on the untreated media increased significantly, while bacterial growth on the media with Microban protection was reduced significantly. This testing was performed to substantiate the media's antimicrobial activity against non-public health organisms. Microban protection inhibits the growth of microbes that can cause odors and adversely affect the filtration media. Test results on file. Why should a filter have antimicrobial protection? Today's high performance filters are capable of trapping microparticles, including some as small as bacteria and fungi, and are designed to last up to 90 days. Unlike some particles which may be trapped in your heater/air conditioner filter, bacteria and fungi are living organisms. Under certain conditions these microorganisms can multiply on unprotected surfaces, potentially resulting in odors and adversely affecting the filtration media. The presence of Microban product protection in the filter material is not intended to affect airborne microorganisms, but can help reduce the uncontrolled growth of odor causing microbes on the surface of the filter material itself, where you need it the most. Why Microban Antimicrobial product protection? DuPont filters have built-in Microban product protection used in leading consumer, institutional and personal care products around the world. This proven ingredients in compounded into the molecular structure of the filter media when it is manufactured. This means that each fiber in the filter media contains Microban protection ensuring that the filter media itself will be protected throughout its useful life. How often should I change my filter? DuPont High Performance Filters were designed to last up to three months within ordinary household environments. However, the life and effectiveness of the filter can vary depending on individual conditions within your home. Unusually dirty ductwork, sanding projects, numerous pets, the presence of smokers, or continuously running the fan system may shorten the life of your filter. In these cases you should visually monitor and change the filter more frequently. Additionally, using a filter for longer than its designated lifespan may begin to restrict airflow and impair the overall efficiency of your furnace due to its high filtering capacity. Impaired airflow may also create a backpressure that is too strong for your system and damage the system's air handler. Odor Control: This filter utilizes state-of-the-art in odor control. The filtration media incorporates Microban antimicrobial protection to fight odor causing microbes on the surface of the media itself as well as Oguard additives which have been shown in controlled laboratory tests to have efficacy on a broad range of household odors. Made in USA.
Contains: Turn furnace fan off before installing filter.
1. Carefully remove and dispose of your old furnace filter by placing particle filled filter in a plastic bag so as not to reintroduce particles into your air. 2. Remove plastic wrap and paper insert from filter. Insert filter so the arrow on the side of the frame matches the direction of the air flow. 3. Record the installation date and replacement date on the designated space on the filter frame.
